Dubai: Just in time for the busy summer travel season, Emirates is again expanding its free baggage allowance for flights to and from Dubai, and flyers can check in up to 45 kilos of bags without paying extra.

The UAE-based carrier has confirmed that it is giving away 40 to 45 kilos of free baggage allowance to economy-class passengers travelling this summer to at least 35 select destinations, including those bound to Pakistan, Philippines, China, Bangladesh, Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, Uganda, Morocco, Egypt and Algeria, among many others.

 Emirates’ new ‘windowless’ seat

The bonus baggage, which effectively expands the standard weight caps by up to ten kilos, can be availed of until July 31 and is valid for trips until December 13 this year. The airline normally allows economy ticket holders to check in up to 35 kilos.

Free baggage limit from Etihad

It’s not just Emirates that is offering flyers a chance to travel with heavier bags this summer. At Etihad, passengers who head to the airport hours before the flight and avail themselves of the “moonlight check-in” service can get five kilos of additional free baggage.
